New York/Venezuelan experimental artist Ximena Borges has created what may well be the strangest Christmas album ever; recorded entirely with her own voice in five languages. "Joyful Noise", released Nov 16, found Ximena teaming up with multi-award winning producer and Grammy nominated musician Gonzalo Grau and simulating all instruments with the creative use of her vocals.

Her Kickstarter campaign in support of the release was fully funded, with 139 backers and over $12,000 raised.

"In my experience, Christmas is chaos filled with love. I wanted to make something that represented that and by finding all the different voices inside myself I realized I could be that chaos! So, together with my producer Gonzalo Grau, we recorded inside a closet for three weeks, creating unexpected arrangements of well know songs from around the world. Each song took a long time because each layer had to be perfect and by the end of the day I had no voice left to even speak! When I came out of that closet we realized we had made something unique, and here I am a year later putting it out into the world thanks to backers on Kickstarter!" says Borges.

Ximena provides a fascinating look at how she approached the album in her eye-catching, self-directed new music video for "Crunchy Drummer Boy"
